Join Forum 35 in welcoming Mr. Joe Traigle as our featured speaker for our May Forum Friday event.  Mr. Traigle will present a personal view on the past history of tolerance in Baton Rouge and how the city should move forward to improve the perception of tolerance in Baton Rouge to potential residents and businesses.  After his presentation, Mr. Traigle will accept questions from the audience.

Mr. Traigle is a 38-year resident of Baton Rouge with a long history of community involvement.  Mr. Traigle is currently the President and CEO of Sheffield Consulting, a local management company.  In addition to forming other businesses such as Sterling Studios, an entertainment distribution company, and The Sterling Group, an international plastics company, Mr. Traigle has served the state as Secretary of Revenue in the 1970s and locally served the city/parish as the President of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Traigle has been most recently noted for his work in bringing the One BR resolution before the Metro Council.  Mr. Traigle worked closely on the resolution with the Reverend Chris Andrews, Pastor of First Methodist Church in Baton Rouge and Rabbi Barry Weinstein of Baton Rouge.  One BR calls for equality in Baton Rouge through the recognition and discussion of tolerance and respect for differing lifestyles.  In addition to his work on One BR, Mr. Traigle is the founding chairperson of the equal rights organization the Capital City Alliance.

A plated lunch will be served at 12pm.  Lunch is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.  Please register online at www.forum35.org/events to RSVP.  Availability of seating at the door is limited.

For questions, please contact Jason Smith at Friday@forum35.org.
