Steps to Leadership in Forum 35




When you join Forum 35, you will have the opportunity to develop socially, professionally, and civically. Through your membership, you  will have the opportunity to


  • Meet other young professionals in Baton Rouge

  • Serve our Baton Rouge community

  • Create personal & professional contacts and build your network

  • Attend community and Forum 35 socials and events at a discounted rate or free of charge

  • Participate in nonprofit and community leadership development activities

  • Connect with community leaders about current issues

  • Receive weekly Forum Flash e-mails with news from within the organization and our community partners

  • Serve as a voting member (for  those above the age of 21)

Once you are an official member of the best young professional’s organization in Baton Rouge, it is time to get involved! Here’s an overview of how you can get the most out of your membership:

  • Read your Forum Flash weekly emails to find details about upcoming events and opportunities to grow personally and professionally

  • Attend events

    • Monthly - committee meetings, service and volunteer events, socials, Forum Friday

    • Quarterly or annual - Leadership Hour, Uncorked, Art Melt, Reindeer Run, Holiday Party

  • Serve in a leadership role

    • Committee Member - each event or initiative has a group of dedicated committee members whose volunteer roles include overseeing many things, including but not limited to: photography, social media, event planning and logistics, permits, guest speaker solicitation, catering, etc. Any Forum 35 member can join a committee(s). To volunteer, email the committee chair.

    • Chair or Co-chairs (appointed by vice president) - after serving on a committee, take your knowledge and experience to the next level as chair or co-chair of a committee

    • Executive Committee (appointed by Nomination Committee) - each committee chair reports to a member of the executive team, including: president, president-elect, secretary, treasurer, vp of service, vp of arts and culture, vp of leadership, vp of diversity, vp of individual membership, vp of corporate membership, and vp of communications

    • Board of Directors (appointed or elected) - our board of directors consists of all members of the executive committee, past-president, and elected board members who apply and are voted into office each December

To serve in any of the above leadership roles, you must:


  • Be an active, dues-paying member of Forum 35

  • Possess a desire to serve Forum 35 and our Baton Rouge community

  • Let us know you want to serve!
